The challenges of running multiple businesses, each with its own set of demands and complexities, became my badge of honour - a testament to my resilience, dedication and grit.

Amidst the chaos of managing two expanding businesses - one, a service-based venture which relies on me heavily as a brains trust, and the other, an expensive product-focused endeavour with extraordinary goals.

My Public Relations business, one that’s held me in good stead for almost 9 years has allowed me to work with some brilliant people and brands and has always been my source of inspiration - what to do, and what not to do with my own creative endeavour that is Bed Intentions.

For 15 years I’ve supported Australian brands, large corporations and small start ups, as a publicist shaping their brand narratives and ensuring greater visibility. I know and understand the essence of a brand and how authenticity, innovation and genuine connection with an audience is what’s required for a brand to survive the ever-changing landscape of consumer culture.

Bed Intentions was born out of a belief that two major pillars to our lives, intimacy and sleep could be reimagined and revolutionised.

I set out meticulously perfecting Bed’s flagship product - Water Based Lubricant. In a market saturated with options, differentiation was key and I was determined to set Bed Intentions apart from the rest through innovative ingredients, materials used, third party certifications and social responsibilities.

With this comes a continuous immersion - a whirlwind of mental and financial burdens in every moment. The weight of responsibility rests heavy on my shoulders, a constant companion in the journey of building something from nothing.

The constant juggling act of managing finances, overseeing operations, and navigating the unpredictable terrain of the two businesses leaves me feeling both weirdly energised and depleted.

The to-do lists, meticulously crafted every day yet never fully conquered, serve as a reminder of the incessant demands of entrepreneurship.

Not many, unless a boot-strapped Founder themselves, can comprehend the intricacies of the journey I’m on - the sleepless nights, the moments of serious doubt and the relentless pursuit of a vision that others may struggle to see.

Yet, amidst the chaos and uncertainty, there remains a glimmer of hope - a beacon of resilience that refuses to be extinguished.

For in the crucible of entrepreneurship, where obstacles loom large, there lies the opportunity to forge something truly remarkable - a legacy that transcends the trials and tribulations of the journey itself.

It's about embracing uncertainty, embracing failure, and embracing the journey, knowing that the rewards far outweigh the risks.

So, why do I do this to myself?

Perhaps it is the thrill of the unknown, the promise of what lies beyond the next horizon, or the simple satisfaction of knowing that in the face of adversity, I am capable of it all.

Whatever the reason, one thing remains abundantly clear: I can do this.
